Just normal life in Indianapolis with Josh, Mindy, Taylor, Wyatt, Cameron and Megan
Norm was coming back from Arizona on Tuesday, May 6, so I went to Indy on the 5th after my dental appointment. It was supposed to be about 30-45 minutes to prepare a tooth with a recent root canal for a crown. Several temporary crowns broke and there were other issues so I spent almost 4 HOURS at the dentist. And I had not taken my usual pre-dental anxiety meds because I was going to be driving. It was not a pleasant experience.
I met Josh at Stonybrook School (Taylor's middle school) for a track meet. Taylor ran the 4 X 800 pictured here, then the mile and the mile and a half. He also did the long jump (had never done it other than in PE). Then we went to Megan's T-ball game and Wyatt's baseball game. They were just another field apart. Cameron and his friends were literally running the whole time I was there. After the games, we went to 'El Jaripeo' for Mexican food since it was Cinco de Mayo and almost 7:30. Notice how Mindy manages to wiggle out of any pictures that are taken. This was all Monday, after work for Josh, school for the kids, piano lessons for Wyatt and Cameron and gymnastics for Cameron. They are so busy, but they are so much fun, too.

On Tuesday morning, Megan had gymnastics, but she lounged around with Copper while her Mom showered.

Old friends

Norm and I recently saw Brandon, Staci and Jackson. They were in town for Jackson's baptism. We could not attend because we were in Mt. Vernon while Ethan and Lisa went house-hunting in Arizona. Jackson is so cute and Staci looks great. They are so happy and of course so is Anna. We guess that Pat is also, but he was asleep when we were there (at 8:30 p.m.). Celebration! was 2 weeks ago at EIU. Norm and I went for some food and some cool bluegrass music. We saw the Bell sons and their families there and, and as usual, we saw Al Krietemeier there with his Lemon Shake-Up booth. They all say hello and hope you are all well.

Dad's find

Dad found this little snapping turtle on a walk on the trail near our house. He put it in the pond, but who knows if it stayed. It reminds me of 'Chop Top' and all the other little tortoises we had in Glendale.

Honda Accord
Dad and I got a new car a few weeks ago and I told Emily I would up put some pictures. We really like it. It is metallic brown (almost gold-looking).

Saying good-bye in Mt. Vernon
Finals are over and grades are in! Dad and I are done with school for a while. Yesterday afternoon we drove to Mt. Vernon so that Ethan and Dad could leave early this morning. Dad is really excited about the long drive to Chandler, Arizona. He is glad to be spending time with Ethan. The missionaries serving in Mt. Vernon showed up just as we did so we also took pictures with them. One of them is from Morgan, Utah. My Dad was from Morgan, Utah! Small LDS world. Then we went to Fazoli's (chosen by the children) and then returned to Ethan and Lisa's home for more pictures and lots of hugs and kisses. Allyson, Jackson and Julianne will be leaving next week with Lisa and Kristin (Lisa's sister). They will be driving to Provo to stay until the house in Chandler is available. We will miss them very much but are happy that Ethan and Emily and their families will be so close. We look forward to visiting them in Arizona.

Hola Familia Garrett!

I am just starting this blog and hope to share pictures and other info that are of interest to the whole family. The last two years have brought so many changes to our family and more are coming soon. Be patient with me as I learn to add pictures and share other information. I will be counting on Emily to help me. Dad gets too impatient with me since I am not very computer literate.
